Not sure how I missed this when Oli Firth first posted it to our discussion boards three months ago (when it first hit the web), but "Road Bike Party 2"—great title for bike porn, as far as I'm concerned—is just insane. We've seen similar feats from Tim Knoll on BMX and Ines Brunn's fixed-gear track-robatics, but, as the saying goes, steel is real. Non-cyclists might enjoy the general outlandishness of the stunts, but fellow riders will appreciate the technical difficulty (and cojones) of Danny Macaskill (pulling some of his signature moves), Martyn Ashton and Chris Akrigg as they endo, bunnyhop and generally thrash on a £15,000 Colnago C59 Disc like it's a 26er.

Of course, these vicarious thrills come at the riders' risk: Ashton, MTB legend-turned-Youtube star, suffered a severe spinal injury last September, turning to Macaskill and Akrigg to help him finish the sequel. On a personal note, this winter has been my slush-busting skills this winter, but I'm not too proud to walk my bike—or (gasp) take the subway—in case of particularly treacherous road conditions. (Still, as a diehard roadie—on a Richard Sachs, no less—once quipped to me, "Death before dismount." ATMO of course.)

The guy, Martyn Ashton was paralyzed from the waist down for life doing these stunts while working on the clips. There is some irony and a lesson there somewhere...

Would love to see someone racing a Richard Sachs bike try to bunny hop barriers rather than get off. That's like taking your Gallardo to a rally course.
