Bethany Shorb's Modern Devotion to the Car Crash
Artist Bethany Shorb has been experimenting with car crash themed work since a car crash almost ended her own life three years ago. The Detroit-based industrial designer has been harvesting parts from classic American and European sports car, creating beaded and sutured "skins" from deployed airbags and reappropriating "obsessive tropes" on car-culture.
Tonight, her solo show, Supplemental Restraint System is opening at Brooklyn's Devotion Gallery. Check out more pics of her work after the jump!
