We previously covered Ron Paulk's Mobile Woodshop in depth, interviewing him in a two-part series. Well, there's fresh news of the Mobile Woodshop: It's for sale!
For those of you that live within range of Washington State, the 16-foot box truck—more specifically, a 2005 Ford F550—is going on the market for $17,995. Naturally Paulk's keeping the tools that once inhabited the truck, but other than that the next buyer will receive it as seen in the videos we showed you in Part 1 and Part 2; all of the built-in cabinetry, the vacuum plumbing and the electrical will be left intact. The big question, of course, is why Paulk's selling this rolling work of art and function. It seems that after 25 years in the business of building homes, Paulk is transitioning into something else—what exactly, he's not yet ready to say. But he did indicate the new venture will involve another type of workshop on wheels: "Our business model is changing," Paulk told Core77. "In preparation, I am planning on building and setting up a mobile platform to meet those needs."
More details, please? "Let's just say," Paulk responded, "it will be worth the wait."
In the meantime, those of you looking to put yourself into the Mobile Woodshop can see the ad here.
