First Mobile Device With Rollable Screen. Perhaps.

Well, there's a lot of talk in here (the device does EEVVV-rything), and not a lot of action. Especially no action "on" the screen, so who knows how real this is. It does "fold," (not roll), but it folds only once. Still, worth a look. [more info at freshcreation]

I used to work for a now-defunct company, Gyricon, on a similar display. It's definitely real, although you probably won't be displaying video on it, since the refresh rate is miserable (it relies on physically moving little charged plastic beads around). Quality is probably about like good newsprint unless things have radically improved in the last couple of years.

The big thing is that the battery life with this stuff is _ridiculous_. You apply a charge and the display stays in the state you put it, like a very high tech etch-a-sketch. I'll be interested to see how well that flexible backplane holds up. ie, are all the layers going to delaminate over time?
