Using sheets of acetate, some markers and his phone's built-in camera, the artist known as Hombre_Mcsteez creates brilliant animations that overlay his drawings onto the environment. Mcsteez, a.k.a. Marty Cooper, refers to the clips as "Aug(De)Mented Reality," and a more accurate description isn't possible to create:
Cooper regularly updates his Instagram page with both still shots and mini-videos, like this update on the classic videogame Frogger:
Some of the animations display useful life tips, like the best way to enjoy your coffee with fresh milk:He's also got a miniseries going, or at least a hashtag with his #thesecretlifeooftrafficcones:
Traffic cones mate in stacks. Their offspring are created at the bottom of the stack in a vaccuum pocket created by vigorous twisting and rubbing.
After a number of years, the traffic cone builds a thick layer of dirt and grime on its exterior membrane. The cone will travel to a isolated area and begin its molting process. After sloughing off the old dry skin, the cone is left with a bright and shiny new coat.
Cooper's now aiming to post a new video every day. As you can imagine, all of that drawing gets tiring, so he's gotten a tiny elephant to help him produce. Unfortunately the elephant is a drunkard.
