Once upon a time, all a traveling DJ needed at his destination was a shelf to drop his milk crates on and a flat surface for the turntables; nowadays s/he's most likely toting a laptop, and needs to have that elevated above the action.
To fill this latter need, a company called Stanton makes a lightweight, aluminum laptop stand, designed to rest its feet under a turntable. Attached straps keep wires out of the way, and the whole thing folds flat for travel. Once folded up, it fits into any 12" record bag. Check it out here.

Finally about two years ago I decided that there had to be a better way. Certainly Cd's had made my life easier
but a few thousand of these can be quite a hefty load in and by itself. My next move and the smartest one that
I've made, is the day that I decided to be a Laptop DJ. My nights became fun again and I never looked back.
