On a trip to an impoverished Latin American country (that I cannot name because it is illegal for me to have been there), I was lucky enough to stay with a local family, the father of which was an electric fan repairman. At one end of their apartment was a loft covered in a curtain; on day three of my stay he pulled the curtain back to show me his workshop.
In a country where tools were difficult to come by, this guy had amassed an amazing collection of hand tools that put my big, fat, American collection back home to shame. He said it had taken him nearly two decades. I'll never forget the variety of screwdrivers he had, in various lengths (for getting into tight spaces) and a variety of heads.
I would love to go back there and give him one of these Wiha Stubby screwdrivers as a gift.
The Stubby magazine bit holder is a small, space-saving screwdriver containing a bit magazine. If the cap of the Wiha SoftFinish multi-component handle is removed, six bits designed for all common types of fastening then become accessible.
The German-made compact driver won a 2009 Red Dot Award in the Construction category.
By the way, one of the items the repairman had managed to keep running--that was significantly older than his tool collection--is his car, seen here beneath his repair shop sign. Oh, the envy!
