There are certain products that I've always subconsciously considered "finished," which is to say, their design is time-tested and leaves no room for further improvement; but I'm always pleasantly surprised when designers like Zurich-based Alfredo Haberli prove me wrong. Haberli's "Hang by Hand" coat hanger provides a handle to grab it by, and it wasn't until I saw it that I realized we usually grab clothes off the rack by gripping the shoulder itself, which now that I think about it sounds inelegant.
So, is Haberli's hanger going to make its way to a closet near you? Unfortunately this is one of those good ideas that seems it will never make its way to mass-market--Haberli prototyped it way back in 1999, and we've heard nary a peep on it since.
