Don't let the name fool you -- Normann Copenhagen's new Spaghetti Dozer doesn't crush carbs into little pieces, it "doses" and measures out precise portions. Serge Atallah's design fans open and shut for easy measurement and storage and puts an end to awkward, stringy leftovers. It's a pretty specific and limited tool, but perfect if all you eat is spaghetti. The Spaghetti Dozer will be available in retail stores this spring for EUR13.75.

This is one thing that NOBODY NEEDS. It's neat-o, sure-- a very nice design, looks cool and clever in pictures-- but serves no purpose for anybody with a clue. Eight servings per box? Split in half, then half of that will feed you and a friend. This is an idiot tool, like a tool to remove shrink-wrap (um, FINGERS?) or annoying plastic packaging (um, SCISSORS?).

Funny. My much less expensive spaghetti container has this functionality built into the lid; just dial it to the different servings. I've had it for about 10 years and have used it every time I've cooked spaghetti. Might have cost me 1/5 what this does... and it does more.

So help me out. Why is this so remarkable and desirable?
