Summer's nearly upon us, and we here at Core77 will shortly spend a weekend at a cabin rental where we can sit outside and drink nice, frosty beer in between spirited bouts of wrestling. But there's a design problem: While we can wrestle out in the woods as good as we can in the office, having cold beer outside means hauling up a cooler, keeping that cooler well-stocked with ice, and downing the beer faster than we'd like so it doesn't go warm—and that accelerated boozing sometimes impacts the wrestling results. There's gotta be a better way!Turns out there is. The makers of the Corkcicle, the wine-chilling permanent icicle we showed you last summer, have turned their design attentions towards us beer drinkers. Their new Chillsner isn't just a beer-bottle-sized version of their prior product; while it's similarly constructed of stainless steel and contains the same thermal coolant gel, it's equipped with vents up top so liquid can flow through. Once the top is sealed onto the bottle, you can drink right through the thing without needing to remove it.
Having consistently chilly beer won't get you out of my unbreakable Full Nelson, but it's nice that very your last sip will be every bit as ice-cold as my techniques.
The Chillsner is currently up for pre-order and will begin shipping in June.

Too bad it detracts from the simple experience of cracking open a bottle and enjoying it as is.
