Its a shame to hear about an amazing experience only after the event is over but some things are worth knowing about even if you yourself cannot experience it. A few nights ago, on a flying visit to Venice I had the privilege to witness one of the most incredible nights of entertainment.
Tucked away in the winding labyrinth of Venice's streets is Palazzo Fortuny, a museum that is sometimes doubles as a theatre, housed in one of the most beautiful courtyards in Venice. Here you can see the fabrics and tapestry works of Fortuny displayed as a stunning background for unusual performances.
Anagoor's Ballo Venezia played out acts throughout the house -- the first was in the crypt-like basement. Guests sat on cushions and watched shimmering dancers covered head to toe in golden glitter flit in and out of the shadows.
The performance continued act by act throughout the amazing house, taking us from the cellar, through the courtyard and up into the gallery, where hidden singers created a spooky acoustic backdrop to the private art collection of Fortuny.
Anagoor continue to tour and perform, upcoming dates can be found on their website and the Museo Fortuny is open for events throughout the year. Its well worth a visit.
