Last nights opening party for the Design Life Now: National Design Triennial 2006 at the Cooper Hewitt National Design Museum brought out all the usual suspects and a few more on one of the first true winter nights New York has seen. Focussing on contemporary American culture today, this exhibition takes a reasonably diverse cross section of designers such as the heavy weights Santiago Calatrava, Rem Koolhaas, Nike, IDEO and Apple, mixed in with the more subversive works of Kid Robot, Tobias Wong, Natalie Jeremijenko and Nicholas Blechman.
