The two recent Royal College of Art graduates Max Frommelt and Arno Mathies have come up with an ingenious and beautiful solution for a flat pack water vessel: the Foldboat.
Made from a 5mm thick sheet of P.E. plastic, it can comfortably transport 2 people when folded, and when unfolded only measures 250cm x 150cm. The two designers are currently selling a self-produced special edition of Foldboat, as shown at Portobello Dock in Tom Dixon's The Dock, for the duration of the London Design Festival. But for the long run they are looking for a manufacturer with who they could produce at a larger scale.

I like how when unfolded it only has two dimensions. How does that work? Wouldn't that make it difficult to stay afloat?
